How To Get To VWoodstock 2
Friday, April 27, 2007If you are coming from the south via SLEX (i.e. Laguna, Quezon), the Filinvest Exit is still open. Once you get to Filinvest turn left at Commerce Ave. (Insular Life). You'll see the main entrance of Westgate on your right.
If ou are coming from the North (i.e. Makati, QC), take the temporary Filinvest exit, just before the Alabang Exit. The old Filinvest Exit is closed. Then just follow the directional signage going to Filinvest. If you miss the Temporary exit, you have to make a U-Turn using the Susana Heights exit and entery the Filinvest Exit.

Tagaytay Up-Rising
Thursday, March 1, 2007During the Philippine revolution of 1896, the ridges and forests of Tagaytay became the sanctuary for revolutionaries including those from nearby provinces. The passage to and from towns via Tagaytay added the word "mananagaytay" to the native's vocabulary. It means "to traverse ridges."
At the outbreak of the 2nd world war, the 11th Airborne Division of Lt. Gen. William Krueger's 8th army airdropped military supplies and personnel at the Tagaytay ridge prior to the liberation of Manila from the Japanese on February 3, 1945. To commemorate this event, a marker was installed in 1951 at the junction of Silang, Canlubang-Nasugbu roads by the city officials in coordination with the Philippine Historical Institute. (www.tagaytay.com)
February 25, marks another event for the FIlipino People…EDSA Revolution.
To commemorate the two February events in Philippine history, we had a "TakVOKS" to Tagaytay. What started out to be a hesitant group of 25 VWs by first week of February, turned out to be a massive show of force of 110 VWs and over 170 enthusiasts.
Different groups converged at Caltex South Hub (SLEX-Mamplasan) and took off around 8:00AM bound for Taaleña Restaurant in Tagaytay City.
Taaleña Restaurant and its adjecent lots, driveways were filled with VWs.
The gathering was highlighted by the awarding of Certificates of Appreciation to several VW enthusiasts that volunteered aid to the typhoon victims of Laguna.
Lunch was served thru the courtesy of the different groups and individuals that brought food provision for sharing.
The day ended as the different groups boarded their VWs and headed back home.
